A River runs through it

Meet Arwen River Rose, our newest little mutt kitten that we saved from a shelter. Arwen, for the elf princess in Lord of the Rings, River from Serenity/Firefly, and Rose for Doctor Who's famous sidekick. She is a bundle of sassy love all wrapped up in a sour pickle. She nuzzles incessantly, chews what she shouldn't, shadows me through the house, and constantly pesters our scottish fold cats (who are too prissy to play). That makes 3 cats in our home now, far less than when we were breeding scottish fold kittens. The question is, will her attributes outweigh the tornado she leaves in her wake? I suspect she will outgrow it.

DISNEY's 50's Prime Time Cafe - Chicken Pot Pie Recipe!

I can attest to this dish served at the 50's Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood Studios @ Disney World Florida, I have enjoyed it there on multiple occasions. The one thing I can't seem to replicate about this dish at home are the missing lectures and attitude that mama gives you at Disney. She is sure to scold you in the restaurant if you have your elbows on the table, don't clean your plate properly, or if you don't mind your table manners. You may even find yourself with your nose in the corner. Try the recipe, I found it to be authentic!

The word Y'all has become an important part of who I am, and more importantly, a statement of great Texas pride. Having lived in various parts of the country, I speak from personal experience, not just blind pride. Being Texan is not about where you live, it's a way of life, a tribute to friendliness, a camaraderie of people who remember that Texas is the greatest nation in the world. Bottom line - What makes Texas the best state in the Union? TEXANS make Texas the best state in the union!!! Don't mess with Texas OR Texans, a slogan we aim to enforce with force. YEE-HAW

Playlist 11/24/09

When I start my day, I am quick to hum my way through the morning routine. This carries over to singing at the top of my lungs in the car, which leads into my awesome dance moves while I cook. I am no musical expert, but I do have a very musical soul. It saturates my life and seems to sculpt my mood. With this said, I thought I would share a few tunes that happen to be in my head at the moment. Don't get your hopes up, it's probably nothing we have in common.
